Factors Affecting the Prescription Pattern of Generic Cardiovascular Medicines: A Cross-Sectional Study in Dhaka City

A growing trend of cardiovascular disease is a threat to national health. The objectives the research are analyze association between prescribed generics with doctors’ gender, academic degrees, location practice and categories generic medicines. descriptive cross-sectional Dhaka-based study design was used assess prescriptions data. As primary source data, 403 were collected for twelve months from six different locations cardiologists’ chamber in Dhaka. two-stage cluster sampling technique collect at 95% confidence level 5% margin error. For proportional population size (PPS) sampling, weight specific areas determined secondary Chi-Square (2) goodness fit test revealed that practice, therapeutic class statistically significant medicine significance (pvalues <0.01).
